Last night’s Chef’s Night Out bash at At Vermilion was the mess you knew it’d be — Aaron Sanchez in Miami whites and flashy gold kicks, Terroir’s wine man Paul Grieco in a Canada Dry workman’s jacket, and Anne Burrell telling us someone mistook her for Babbo pastry chef Gina DePalma (“I told them, you must have never met Gina DePalma if you think we look the same”). Herb Wilson tweeted from the scene: “Lots of chefs complaining about biz being way off … This too shall pass!” And The Atlantic’s Corby Kummer walked around wearing the medal he won at the James Beard Foundation Media Awards at a ceremony hosted by Ted Allen just hours before.
