Quickly, the cheery Taiwanese shabu-shabu and bubble-tea chain with locations in Flushing, Elmhurst, and Sunset Park, has added a second Manhattan store to its empire — at 11 Pell Street. It’s mostly a takeout operation and doesn’t have hot pots, but you’ll find a similar menu of slushes (chocolate, coconut, barley, etc.), teas (peppermint, shiso plum, etc.), and (for the health-conscious) fruit vinegars! A cream-cake machine is also in full effect. Plus, this outpost has something the other Chinatown one doesn’t — fried squid balls that are served in a bag, just like the chain’s super-salty fried chicken bits. Note that the sauce has three degrees of spiciness (mild, spicy, and extra spicy), and for most, spicy will do.
