Picnick Smoked Once Again Sells Out Mid-Lunch

Yesterday, a Grub Street commenter added this to our post about the opening of Wall Street’s new barbecue truck, Picnick Smoked:

NOTE TO SELF! NEVER EAT AT A SPOT THE DAY AFTER IT IS REVIEWED. I RODE FROM 30 ST AND 8TH READY TO TASTE SOME DELICIOUS BBQ ON THE HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR ONLY TO FIND THE CART SHUT DOWN AND A MESSAGE IN GREASE PENCIL SCRAWLED ON THE SIDE SAYING “SOLD OUT AT 12:30 SEE YOU TOMORROW! AT 11 WITH MORE FOOD” I’M NOT GOING BACK TIL WINTER.

Today the truck did a little better, we discovered during a spot check. According to a message from owners Will Goldfarb and Kevin Pomplun, it sold out at 1 p.m. (per an Eater tipster, there were 50 people in line before the truck even opened). Small consolation: This week, the La Cense truck is parked up a block.
