Whoa, this just might be better than Joe Doe tweeting “Impeech Obama!”— Matt Levine was so annoyed that his lounge, the Eldridge, lost to B.East at the Paper Nightlife Awards last night that he tweeted, “Paper Magazine awards are fixed - who is alexandra alexandra for best dj? where is b.east? huh?” And: “I got no respect for Paper Magazine … whack … if you respect good music, please retweet ….” We don’t want to detract from B.East’s win (after all, New York named the lounge “Best Speakeasy” last year) but these awards may be a little dubious.
