Time to put down the veggie burgers, people! We’re told Nice Matin’s Simon Oren and Andy D’Amico will open the second outpost of Five Napkin Burger on the Upper West Side next Monday. The new location’s menu will be identical to the original’s (the bar will be limited to beer and wine at first), and designer Roy Nachum (1Oak, Super Hot Dog) will once again go for “butcher shop chic” (meat hooks, filament bulbs, and a chalk mural). This being the Upper West Side, there will, of course, be outdoor tables in addition to the 100 dining-room seats. Along with Bill’s Bar and Burger, this means two highly praised patties are making an uptown transfer.
