Yesterday, Eater brought word that Tim Horton’s had opened in the old Zen Palate space in Union Square (that T.G.I. Friday’s is still to come), and today, following up on a Jeremiah’s Vanishing rumor, the Feed confirms that Doughnut Plant will open a Chelsea location, next to the Chelsea Hotel, in spring. If the remote takeout-only Lower East Side original has always intimidated you, this is good news: The 700-square-foot “doughnut lounge” (per Mark Israel) will offer an espresso bar as well as new items baked in-house. Bad news for the Donut Pub.
