New Bravo Show Moves Rocco From Dunce’s Corner to Head of the Table

Well, this was inevitable: Bravo has announced that it’s developing a series with its pet Top Chef guest, Rocco DiSpirito, who is not a chef but plays one on TV. As we read the release, our eyes glazed over, our tongue rolled back, and we went into a state of catatonic indifference, namely because Rocco’s Dinner Party sounds exactly like Top Chef except (à la Chopped) there are four new contestants on each show, and all of the final challenges involve throwing a themed dinner party for Rocco, who is said to be “one of the culinary world’s most influential figures.” If that’s not hyperbole enough, consider that the contestants will be “some of the country’s most promising aspiring chefs” and Rocco will be joined by “many of the most influential tastemakers today.” Hopefully that means Chodorow.
