Update your records: It’s hardly as dramatic as Gwen Butler’s departure, but there’s been another front-of-the-house change at 5 & Diamond. Chef David Santos tells us he has installed his brother Carlos as GM. The elder Santos had been at Cru for the past five years. “The one element we were missing was a front-of-the-house touch. Now we finally got it,” David explains. “It’s really great to be working with him, and we are going to kill ourselves to make this place live up to the potential it really has.”
