Zombie Gourmet Rises With Special-Edition Series

The promised breathing of life back into Gourmet continues with Condé Nast’s plan to churn out three special-edition Gourmet-branded magazines. According to the press release, each ad-free magazine will be made up of archival Gourmet content, repackaged thematically by erstwhile executive food editor Kempe Minifie along with wine pairings from Belinda Chang of The Modern. We can look forward to the first special edition, Gourmet Quick Kitchen, on newsstands September 7 — it emphasizes speedy, accessible recipes, about which we’re sure Ruth Reichl is rolling over in her idyllic upstate New York weekend home.
