Cake Man Raven Does A-Okay, But Tisserie Is Closed by Health Department

A look at the Health Department’s website reveals that Cake Man Raven, after being closed with 78 points, received just five demerit points (that’s good enough for an A, though the site says a grade is still pending) on its more recent inspection. There’s no answer at the store or the catering office, so it’s uncertain whether it has reopened, but now another bake shop has egg on its face. According to the DOH, the midtown location of Tisserie was closed after an inspection yesterday resulted in 62 points, most of them doled out for filth flies and temperature violations. Strangely, the bake shop received a respectable nineteen points (B range) on an inspection a little over a month ago — it’s unclear why it was reinspected after so little time. The midtown location’s phone is busy and an employee at the Soho location didn’t know anything about the inspection or the closure.
