Kathryn Weatherup tells Diner’s Journal that the Tribeca satellite of Weather Up (opening at 159 Duane Street early next month) will be the “first bar on the East Coast of the United States that is doing in-house ice harvesting and production.” A $6,000 machine will produce 300-pound blocks of ice that we’ll no doubt have to add to our ice-cube slideshow. But will they be using swords and spherification presses? [Diner’s Journal/NYT]
