In today’s “Tipsy Diaries,” Frank Bruni investigates the trademark battle between Breuckelen and Brooklyn gins. The former is actually made in Brooklyn and has a “slightly rougher, more intriguing bite,” while the latter has “a discernibly citrusy taste, along with a clean finish” and is (for now, at least) made in the ’burbs, though Bruni catches a bartender at the Brooklyneer mistakenly thinking it hails from trendy Kings County. Oh, and neither producer has lived in Brooklyn for more than a few years. [NYT]
