The Rockaway boardwalk isn’t the only thing that’s keeping the Parks Department busy: The Post reports that Parks has selected Don Pintabona’s O-V Hospitality Group LLC to take over the pavilion in Union Square Park that used to house Luna Café. The former Tribeca Grill chef (more recently a chef-partner at Dani and then Valentino’s on the Green) will oversee a “wine bar, large communal table and outdoor dining on the north plaza.” The decision has been years in the making; back in 2008, when Danny Meyer was said to be a contender for the space, there was some legal debate about whether the city should install a private restaurant at all. A major get for chef Pintabona.
