Charges Tossed in Lucali Pizzaiolo Stabbing

The attempted-murder charges that were brought against both Mark Iacono and Benny Geritano after their April knife fight have been dropped, according to a number of outlets. You’ll recall that Iacono, the owner of Lucali, and Geritano got into it last April outside of Joe’s Superette (which, annoyingly, has since closed forever). Neither guy was willing to talk, so the Brooklyn D.A. dropped the charges. “They’ve been uncooperative,” a spokesman for the D.A. told the Brooklyn Paper. “They haven’t been talking the whole time.” Geritano remains under house arrest, since the scuffle violated his probation, but Iacono’s attorney told the Paper that his client is “very happy with the outcome,” which are probably not the exact words we’d use if we’d been stabbed on the sidewalk in broad daylight.
