Eddie Huang Will Close the Original Baohaus on Sunday

“Soup dumplings for you.”

Today on his blog, Eddie Huang confirms that he’s closing his original Baohaus on Rivington Street, his second sudden shutter in less than a year. “Don’t be sad. It’s part of the plan … When you see what we have coming at Baohaus 2 next month, you will doodie your pants. It may or may not involve beef noodle soup and soup dumplings,” he writes. We rang up Huang, who confirmed that, yes, he’s planning to roll out the soup (originally an on-and-off Baohaus special, which we can confirm is pretty killer) and soup dumplings in about three weeks. Huang says the move is really about being able to focus his energy in one place. Between his upcoming book and TV show, “I don’t even get to be in the kitchen as much as I want to,” he said. Sunday night “after the Redskins” game, Huang and his brother and business partner Evan will serve noodle soup and good-byes at the shop’s last ever shift. [Fresh Off the Boat]
