There’s a lot of electricity — and potentially a couple of coal-fire brick ovens — on Old Fulton Street today. Dozens of boxes of wine and carts filled with restaurant equipment are currently being transported from the original Grimaldi’s to the new Grimaldi’s, just a few feet away on the corner of the street. Sources tell Grub Street that the old location has one or two days open for business as we know it, and the new location could be up and running in about a week. Okay, so, the stop-work order has been relinquished and the family’s sad tragedy has had some time to settle, but what’s going on with the illegal oven sitch? We’ll find out soon.
