Is Sirio Maccioni planning an upscale restaurant here?
Not long ago we told you that Le Cirque’s Sirio Maccioni was rumored to be taking over the Le Caprice space at the Pierre, and now comes confirmation that Le Caprice is out at the hotel. Grub got our hands on a statement saying that “le Caprice will be moving to a new site that is currently being finalised.” No word as to timing, so let’s assume the six months our source told us to be true. If that’s the case, look for Maccioni’s new one — which will reportedly be quite upscale, with a focus on Florentine and Tuscan fare — to open by this time next year.
