We already knew that former San Francisco pastry chef and Food Network regular Elizabeth Falkner had decamped to our side of the country, and now the San Francisco Chronicle has some details on Falkner’s first East-Coast project: It’ll be a pizza and pasta joint in Brooklyn.

Falkner will be the chef, but the Chron says she isn’t the project’s only Bay Area player: Bourbon & Branch bartender Darren Crawford will do the drinks, and Nancy Puglisi from Tony’s Pizza Napoletana will also be a partner. Lastly, Tony’s namesake pizzaiolo, Tony Gemignani, will consult. (You might recall Gemignani was also involved in the very short-lived 900 Degrees.)

So, when and where is this going to go down? The story says the team has narrowed it down to two spaces — one in Park Slope and one in Boerum Hill — and hopes to “open this summer,” which, if they really haven’t finalized the space yet, seems unrealistic very optimistic. Even the new Franny’s won’t start firing its pies until November.
