A Look at La Montanara’s Fried-Pizza Offerings
Photo: Melissa Hom
Last night was a momentous one: The world’s only fried-pizza joint (at least according to owner Giulio Adriani) debuted on Ludlow Street. You might know Adriani as the fryer-happy pizzaiolo from Forcella, where he put the oil-immersed “La Montanara” style on the New York pizza map. Adriani’s new twelve-seat shop is dedicated to these fried pies and other crispy goodies, and we have photos of the lineup; see those, and the menu, straight ahead. If it looks like perfect drinking food, know that La Montanara is open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. during the week, and till 4 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
