New Year’s Eve is, as you all should know, amateur night in any major city. You want to have a good time? Make some reservations and stick to the simplest of plans — preferably one that does not involve a cab, or a velvet rope. Allow us to begin our service duty today with a few prix fixe deals you should consider before they sell out.

Details: A six-course tasting menu featuring Dungeness crab and an optional black truffle pasta for $95 ($25 additional for truffle course), and optional wine pairings by award-winning wine director Shelley Lindgren for an additional $75.

Comstock Saloon

Details: Live jazz and a three-course prix-fixe dinner from chef Carlo Espinas for $65 per person, exclusive of tax, gratuity, or additional beverages. That’s served from 6 p.m. to midnight, and additionally they’ll be doing a benefit for families affected by the Drakes Bay Oyster Co. closure, with oysters and Champagne from noon to 4 p.m. — a half dozen for $10 — which is a pretty good way to start the day.

Delarosa

Details: Food and a bottomless bar of spirits, beer, and wine, along with music from DJ Edwin Fabian, dancing, a midnight toast, and party favors. It’s $125 all inclusive (bottomless bar, food, taxes, tip), and it goes from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Heirloom Café
2500 Folsom Street at 21st
Details: Two seatings, with live Dixieland jazz starting at 9 p.m. Early seating: three courses for $50, wine not included; late seating: four courses for $75 per person, wine not included. The menu features a choice of flatiron steak with Bordelaise or Liberty duck breast with pate and farro, as well as an additional Dungeness crab option at the later seating.

Jardinière

Details: Two seatings, the first, with reservations from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. is $150 per person; the second, from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m., is $225 per person. The North Beach Jazz Band will be playing two sets at 9:30 p.m. and 1 a.m. See the menu here.

Lolinda

Details: It’s an Argentine, family-style feast with shareable steaks, ceviche, empanadas, etc. There are two seatings, priced $55 to $95 per person, and the later, pricier seating includes a DJ and champagne toast.

SPQR
1911 Fillmore Street
Details: A lavish ten-course prix fixe menu from newly Michelin-starred chef Matt Accarrino for $135 per person with optional wine pairings for $70 per person (price subject to change). Gluten-free and vegetarian diets will be accommodated with advance notice.

Details: Chef Adam Timney is offering a four-course prix fixe with multiple options for $68 per person, and everything is available a la carte as well.

Twenty Five Lusk
25 Lusk Street at Townsend
Details: They’re doing a way eighties, luxe NYE affair at this SoMa spot with two seatings, and the lounge will be open all night as well, with no cover charge. The menu for the evening includes a caviar course, Nantucket Bay scallops, poached Maine lobster, and Wagyu beef. First seating: $105, with $45 additional for wine pairings; second seating: $125 with $55 additional for wine pairings, and each seating has an optional, more expensive, “exclusive” wine pairing available too, for $85 or $95, respectively. Details: DJ Jazzy Jeff will be spinning, ladies and gentlemen, and if you need to know more, there will be passed hors d’oeuvres between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., and a hosted bar. Tickets are $150, with table packages for $1500.
