Siberia, AER Get Second Incarnations; BED Space Donated to CharityThe Observer today claims to have the “exclusive” that Tracey Westmoreland is planning to revive Anthony Bourdain’s — and just about everyone else’s — fave dive, Siberia. Of course we already told you that back in May, but there is the news that Westmoreland has decided to settle in Hell’s Kitchen, possibly in the same space on West 40th Street he vacated to begin with. Westmoreland’s also working as “minister of propaganda” at the club Charity, opening in the former BED space, where clubgoers will be able to allot a portion of their boozing money to a good cause (like elevator safety!). Also in clubland, Guest of a Guest has it that Kiss and Fly will open soon where Aer Lounge used to be. Sounds like it’s going to be an overpriced bottle-service spot, which is why our name for it is going to be Dine and Dash (to Siberia!).

Bungalow Renovates While Neighbors Go to Pieces
What you see here is a construction Dumpster containing the disco detritus (everything from LPs to bar stools to the happy-happy drink tickets pictured) from defunct clubs Spirit and BED — a metaphor for the death of West 27th Street if ever there was one. Also spotted on the block yesterday, a posting on Bungalow’s door: “Bungalow 8 will be closed Saturday, July 7th until Tuesday, July 10th for renovations.”

A Journey Through the Food Groups, and Thence to Bed
The typical New York diner (to say nothing of the typical New York reader) will generally get around to all the major food groups in the course of a week. There is the fish group, represented this week by Adam Platt’s one-star review of Wild Salmon, and the southern Italian sea bounty of Bar Stuzzichini, Rob and Robin’s lead opening. The meat group is well served by Prime Burger, the Insatiable Critic assures. The vegetable tribe appears courtesy of Mark Ladner’s spring-onion flan in In Season. Finally, after all this eating, all most of us would want is a bed to lie down in, and Rob and Robin provide some tips for that as well.
